Professional Membership

Professional (voting) membership in ISFD is available to individuals whose primary occupation for at least two years has been the practice or teaching of furnishings design. Includes contract, residential, and custom designers of furniture and related furnishings.

• Professional Membership (Voting)

  • Professional Designer $225

    Membership for individuals who design and make their own furniture products for sale directly to the consumer.

  • Emerging Professional Designer$140

    Membership for individual designers in their first five years after graduation.

  • Furniture Maker/Designer
    $180

    Membership for individuals who design and make their own furniture product for sale directly to the consumer.

  • Educator
    $100

    Membership for individuals in the Education field with a focus on furniture design.

  • Retired Professional Designer
    $50

    Membership for Retired Industry Design Professionals.

  • Design Firm Membership$125

    Membership for design firms with two (2) or more members. One (1) Design Firm Principal/Partner/Owner must sign up for a Professional Designer membership. The remaining members of the firm can sign up at this level.

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate membership is available to individuals whose work in the visual arts is related to the furniture and home furnishings industry. Examples include designers and engineers of products, interiors and graphics, plus allied craftsmen. Affiliate members may serve on committees other than the Nominating and Executive Committees.

  • Affiliate $140

    Membership for individuals whose work in the visual arts is related to the home furnishings industry including detailers, graphic designers, allied craftsmen and interior designers.

  • Associate $140

    Membership for individuals who have an interest in the design process including those who practice law, journalism, marketing, production or finance in the industry.

Student Membership

Student membership is available to individuals currently engaged in studies related to the field of furniture design.
