He has been inducted into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Casual Furnishings Association, was named among the 40 Most Influential Individuals in Home Furnishings Over the Past 40 Years by Furniture/Today, and has received over 100 design excellence and career achievement awards. Traveled to over 40 countries across five continents, Richard and his wife and creative partner, Catherine, support student design scholarship programs across design trade organizations, DirectRelief, City of Hope, the National Search Dog Foundation, and natural health and wellness programs.
