Personal Profile | Michael Robinson earned a BS in Industrial Design from Philadelphia University in 2002 (Now Jefferson). Early in his career, he worked as a product designer for Designship in Bala Cynwyd, PA and later the Josh Owen Design Studio in Philadelphia, PA. In 2002, he co-founded Duzéo Product Design, an independent furniture and product design studio. While at Duzéo, Michael designed and licensed his own furniture designs for the contract furniture market. In 2005, Michael decided to pursue his interest in interior design. He began his career at Jonns Contemporary Interiors in Montgomeryville, PA landing at Unique Interiors in Cherry Hill, NJ in 2006. All along Michael has continued to design furniture largely influenced by his work with his design clients. Michael’s designs have been manufactured by several American furniture factories including J. Persing, Creative Elegance, Country View Woodworking, Crystal Valley Woodworking and Johnston Casuals. His work has been featured in many articles, exhibits and notably in the book "Becoming a Product Designer" by Bruce Hannah. He has been twice nominated for the ASFD Pinnacle Award (Now ISFD). |
